SOCIALISM 2010
On Friday 5th February 2010 the Scottish Socialist Party held an international rally with speakers from France, Denmark, Ireland, America and Scotland. The well-attended rally was held in Maryhill, Glasgow. Among the organisations represented were the NPA, the French Anti-Capitalist Party, the Red-Green Alliance of Denmark, the Irish Socialist Network, the Socialist Party of the United States and the Cuba Solidarity Campaign. Also speaking was John McAllion of the SSP, and chairing was Frances Curran, co-spokesperson for the SSP. It was inspiring to hear fellow socialists from round the world. There was a strong feeling that it was time for a 5th international. The weekend of Socialism 2010 was also the 1st birthday of the NPA, much to the delight of the audience who applauded the announcement. It was also recently the 20th anniversary of the Danish Red-Green Alliance. What better a time for real Socialists from different countries to get together and make plans for a socialist future for the world?
